Training future QA engineers to obtain certifications

  • SaaS
  • B2C

KickTest is a website dedicated to help quality assurance tester to succeed in passing their certifications.

Impact & Results

My participation to the project allowed KickTest to define its messaging and brand identity while structuring the user experience and interface. Crafting an easy to scale brand enabled ourselves to communicate effectively and rapidly without the need for too much design resources.

Initial statement

  • Kicktest wants to allow people to self train for various certifications related to QA testing.
  • The team didn't have anything besides the name and the idea to solve the above issue.

Solution provided

  • Defining a clear branding and logo to differenciate to potential other websites doing e-learning.
  • Helping the team creating a good User Experience as well as comprehensive UI guidelines.
  • Coding the front-end for being able to scale in the future.

Co-founding a product

I co-founded this product with three partners, and we officially launched the platform at the start of 2025 following a brief beta testing phase.

Brand & Personality

I am responsible for shaping the brand direction for our platform.

I chose to develop a playful branding approach that I continue to develop over time.
My goal was to lighten the tone of the testing process by incorporating a colorful UI, while maintaining clarity and ease of use.

Additionally, I handle some front-end development, primarily working on CSS and certain elements of ReactJS.

Iconography

I designed a custom icon set to represent our platform, ensuring they are clear and recognisable across different contexts and sizes.

Illustrations

As Quality Assurance is something that can be hard to describe visually, we had to rely on illustrations.

I chose to do plain but colourful characters to bring life to concepts and enrich the website.

Doing so helps me speeding up my process to make sure, as the only designer, to be able to deliver them as we move forward.
